This week`s member update comes from senior Jared Dressman, Director of Corporate Relations on the MIS club Board of Directors.
This summer I have an internship with Cerner Corporation in Kansas City. I will be working with a division at the World Headquarters called IAC, which stands for Immediate Answer Center. This is the division that recieves calls from Health Care facilities running Cerner software. The calls come in to the IAC when there is an issue with their system that needs to be addressed. This may involve anything from general questions about the system, which may require redirecting the client to documentation, to fixing specific problems by writing new code. I currently am still in the training process and will begin working with my assigned team soon. The internship program here at Cerner is well developed because all of the technical interns are eased into their roles with some introductory training before they are placed into their project teams. I also have been assigned a mentor who will be closely monitoring my progress and will be available if I have any questions. I am looking forward to the rest of my summer working for Cerner and gaining valuable experience working in Information Technology. | | back | |
