This week’s member update comes from junior Adam Augustine, President of the MIS Club.
This summer I have been working full-time at Exline, Incorporated in Salina, KS. This is a family-owned business that does water, sewer, pipeline, and communications and power line construction. They are also repair services for pipelines air or gas compressors and non-automotive engines performing on-site repairs around the world. I work in the plastics technology division and I do a variety of jobs. Plastics division can provide new or can recondition existing mixer blades for a heat mixer or cool mixer. I spend most of the day polishing the surfaces smooth on these blades to prevent any lost performance to the blade geometry.
Last week, I flew to Monterey, CA, and spent a few days with my high school friend who is in the Navy. In July, I will be taking a class at K-State, Salina, to get a couple more credit hours out of the way. My summer activities include spending time with my friends and girlfriend, going to the lake, and playing on the computer.
